Well, fitting that the last day of my blogging month also is the last day of us running the cafe. Â It has only been a year and a half but it feels much, much longer. We found someone to take over the business, and they want to start Dec. 1st. This was a long, exhausting, expensive project for us. But certainly lots of learning and personal growth opportunities! Sigh.
Markus will have some catering events in December and then we’ll make our way back to Canada. I’m actually feeling mostly overwhelmed at everything there is to do to leave here and get us settled again. Hopefully as the weeks click by and items get ticked off the to-do list I’ll feel more upbeat. There are already moments I’m very excited to be returning to friends and family and more regular work; I’ll just have to build on those.
And the most important question: should I rename my blog?
I don’t think you should rename it — you’re coming back across the water.
More big changes for you…I admire all that you’ve done, and I look forward to seeing more of you in 2012!
what a happy day for you and probably a day of much mixed emotion for Markus. We’re thinking of u and of course celebrating the fact that u will be closer to us. Just awakened the Dad from a nap to tell him the good news!
I say, yes. It’s a different journey. “Across the Water” denoted somethign different … amazing but different.
Love you …
Home is where you are,and you have made it thus.
We look forward to having you all back in Canada.
The Dad
Selfihly, I’m so glad to hear you’llbe back soonish. 🙂
Well I’ve loved reading your blog – whether or not you choose to rename it, please keep it up. Any thoughts on where exactly in this big country you will end up?
Wow! All of the sudden Canada’s outlook is looking much brighter! We’ll be here with open arms Hillary!
Thanks Matt! Hopefully you get to Vancouver on occasion. I look forward to seeing you and Shelley!
